The spacious, modern and according to Minergie standards built single-family house with four floors was built in 2012 in a unique residential location. It is located on the outer, western edge of the gold coast community of Erlenbach on a beautiful slope facing south and west. In total, the residents have 233 m2 of living space and an additional 63 m2 of usable space.
The smart, nature-conscious architecture of the house creates a unique experience with a link to the nearby nature for relaxation. The rooms on the garden level, can be used for hobbies, a small guest area or for teenagers with a need for independence. The innovative staircase with air space and skylight leads upstairs to the actual living area. To reach the total of four floors faster, there is also a built-in elevator available. So even during bad weather you can comfortably get from the breakfast table to the car in the underground garage in the basement.
Immediately noticeable is the meticulous interior design. The luxurious, handplaned and country smoked oak parquet gives the living rooms a cozy, rustic character. The separate Bulthaup kitchen blends in perfectly into the interior. In summer, the spacious terraces facing south and west create a clever extension of the living space because breakfast in the first rays of sunshine tastes much better. The west terrace is additionally covered by a pergola. When the days get cooler, you can warm up at the cozy fireplace. The rest of the heat as well as the underfloor heating is provided by the heat pump with geothermal probe and heat distribution.
Thanks to a sophisticated lighting system, the house is brightly illuminated even during winter. This is ensured, by the skylights in the staircase, the panorama windows, and a special atrium with glass doors on the upper living floor. This is where the bedrooms are located, where the largest of them has a tastefully bathroom en suite.
The municipality of Erlenbach, with its 5600 inhabitants has all the advantages of an excellent residential location. Erlenbach is located on the so-called Gold Coast of Lake Zurich. That means: on the right side of Lake Zurich, where the beautiful villages of Stäfa, Meilen and Herrliberg can be found, the locals enjoy the slowly setting evening sun for long hours, while the left shore of the lake is already plunged into nocturnal shadows. The pop star Tina Turner also lives on this shore, and therefore the area can be compared to the Beverly Hills. But at the same time Erlenbach has retained its village character. The single-family house is ideally situated between the village and nature. In close reach are big fields and the forest which forms a beautiful recreation area. Hiking or jogging routes lead across the Erlenbacher Tobel or other parts of the forest up to a hilly landscape with a breathtaking view of Lake Zurich and the surrounding countryside.
At the school of Erlenbach, around 440 children are enrolled in a total of five kindergarten classes and 15 primary classe taught by 60 teachers. The three school buildings Unterer Hitzberg, Oberer Hitzberg and Allmendli are all located on the same site, while the kindergarten children are housed in three buildings a bit further away from the rest. If you want to do your shopping in the village, there is a Coop and a Migros store. Within walking distance is the Erlenbach train station, where a train to Zurich leaves every 15 minutes. In about 10 minutes you are already at the Bellevue in Zurich.
