The refuges in more detail:

The first: The Giacomini Refuge is composed of an accommodation part (10 rooms and 4 dormitories for a total of 56 beds/showers and toilets on the floor), 2 restaurant rooms (2x35 places) and a bright veranda of 60 places opening onto the Panérosse glacier, as well as a terrace of 60 places facing south. A large professional kitchen, a new cold room, a cellar, a laundry room and a basement complete the property. The fireplaces in the dining rooms give the place a cosy charm. This refuge benefited, in 2004, from an important extension. Carefully maintained, its owners have regularly carried out work to improve its comfort. The ITTO standards, the conformity of the septic tank and the grease separator are checked at regular intervals.

The second one: Le Refuge de la Tour, located less than 200 meters from the first one, has 5 dormitories and 4 double rooms for a capacity of 55 places (shower and toilets on the floor). Two dining rooms, one of 70 places, the other of 20, as well as a beautiful terrace complete the property.

The activity is possible mainly in summer season from May to October. The access is possible in summer by 4x4 vehicle (with authorization) or on foot. In winter, the place is accessible by quad with tracks (with authorization) in ski touring, snowshoes or on foot.
